CALL FOR 6th INTERNATIONAL ACTION
We March Against Wars and Capitalism, We Defend the Sovereignty of Peoples and Buen Vivir!
25 years after the lunch of the World March of Women, this year, in 2025 from March 8 to October 17, we call on women in movements from all over the world raise their voices louder and stronger against wars and capitalism and for peoples’ sovereignty and buen vivir together with the World March of Women.
This 6th International Action will be a moment of global mobilization and articulation at local, regional, and international levels. It is a time to make feminist alternatives public and visible, while also bringing women together to share ideas, discuss alternatives, and build grassroots feminist internationalism.
Four action areas of the WMW in 2025 will be:
- Defending commons against transnational corporations
- Feminist economy based on sustainability of life and food sovereignty
- End of violence against women, autonomy over bodies and sexuality
- Peace and demilitarization
Symbol of the 2025 Actions: Tent
WMW common symbol in 2025 will be tent which represents not only disaster capitalism, wars, displacement and migrants but also a shelter for peoples and ancestral wisdom and knowledge in many cultures. In 2025 it will host our cultural activities, debates and trainings being decorated with our cultural symbols, logos and symbols of our feminist struggles.
February 18: Press Conference as the pre-launch of the 6th International Action
On February 18, International Day of Solidarity with Saharawi Women, WMW will hold a virtual pre-launch of its 6th International Action. The online broadcast will announce the start of the activities of the 6th International Action, scheduled for March 8 in Tindouf, Western Sahara.
We invite all women in movements from all over the world to join us in the pre-lunch of the 6th International Action which we organized together with the National Union of Saharawi Women on the International Day of Solidarity with Saharawi Women.
March 8, Start of International Action
The 6th International Action will start in Western Sahara on March 8 alongside simultaneous marches and actions around the world. 4-day of activities in Tindouf will be carried out in “Khayma”, Saharawi tent, representing liberation struggle of Saharawi people. March 30, Land Day of Palestine
The WMW calls NCBs to organize activities on March 30 to denounce genocide and to stand with Palestinian sisters. You may find the booklet on Palestine prepared by the MENA region here.
April 24 to Mayday: Feminist Solidarity Week Against Transnational Corporations
From April 24 to Mayday, we will connect globally with our denouncements, with our alternatives, with our force of self-organized women and articulate local struggles and resistances to our international movement.
Feminist Peace Boat
Feminist Peace Boat in the Mediterranean, a graveyard of migrants and refugees, will connect three continents around the Mediterranean basin and will be accompanied by 3-day IFOS training on the boat. It will sail from Algeria to Turkey with stopovers on the way.
September 21, World Peace Day
Nepalese NCB will host international gathering between September 21-25 that brings delegates from the countries where the 6th International Actions are carried out. NCBs also should mobilize resources to finance their delegates to bring their symbols to exhibit in a grand tent in Nepal.
October 17, 24-hour Feminist Action Against Capitalism and Wars
October 17 is the closing date of the international action. NCBs are expected to organize actions and activities from midday to 1.00 pm in all time zones.
