World March of Women International Committee Meets  in the Tagaytay, Philippines

The World March of Women International Committee (IC) gathered in the Philippines from October 21 to October 25 for the IC meeting. From the Americas, Alejandra Laprea and Norma Cacho; from Asia-Oceania Jean Enríquez, Dayalaxmi Shrestha and Oriane Trolue; from Africa Innocencia Edwige Abioyé Guedegbe, Saphia Ajmy Ngalapi, Beauty Rita Nyampinga and Soline Rubuka; from IS Yıldız Temürtürkan, Sophie Dowllar, and Pınar Yüksek participated to the meeting. 

The International Committee (IC) meeting of the World March of Women opened with a contextual analysis of the socio-political climate in the Philippines by the hosting NCB. Philippine National Coordinating Body highlighted critical issues affecting women and communities. The IC reviewed the regional and international contexts of women’s struggles, with each region sharing insights on recent activities and shaping the agenda for the upcoming 6th International Action. Discussions then focused on refining the Strategic Action Plan and preparing documents for thematic action areas established in previous meetings, with members from each region presenting ideas and proposals.

Further discussions emphasized the organic nature of WMW as a movement. The committee also engaged in logistical planning for the 6th International Action, including proposals for opening and closing activities. Additional sessions concentrated on alliance-building and strategic initiatives, such as the Nyeleni Process and other international frameworks, which strengthened solidarity among the regions.
