Quebec launches a campaign and a calendar of feminist actions

In Quebec, the March launched a campaign with five demands in the fight against poverty, violence against women and all forms of racism and colonialism and for climate justice.

The Quebec Coordination of the World March of Women (CQMMF) held a press conference - in the context of the 24h of feminist solidarity - to speak about its action plan adapted to the context of the pandemic. On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the big March that was to take place in Terrebonne to mark the end of a year of mobilizations in all regions of Quebec has been postponed to next year.

"Today we are launching a broad support campaign for which we are soliciting the support of individuals and organizations," said Marie-Andrée Gauthier, co-spokesperson of the CQMMF and general coordinator of the Réseau des tables régionales de groupes de femmes du Québec. The organization also announced the extension of its activities - through webinars, a calendar of feminist actions and the distribution of popular education tools - until the fall of 2021. "The goal of these actions is to continue our struggles to defend the rights to life, dignity and fulfillment of women and peoples" , explained Francine Rivest, co-spokesperson of the CQMMF and coordinator of the Table de concertation des groupes de femmes de Lanaudière.

We resist to live, we march to transform!
