On 15 November 2025, the World March of Women NCB Nepal organized a Climate Justice and Food Sovereignty Solidarity March and Interaction Program in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality–5, Sindhupalchok. The event was held in support of the People’s Summit towards COP30 in Brazil, echoing global demands for climate justice and systemic transformation. The program was conducted in coordination with the Federation of Community Forest Users Nepal (FECOFUN), Sindhupalchok. Participants included women representatives of community forest user groups, rural women farmers, local FECOFUN leaders, women activists from various sectors, and journalists, demonstrating broad community engagement and solidarity.

Speakers included Janak Raj Giri, Chairperson of FECOFUN Sindhupalchok; Dayalaxmi Shrestha, International Committee member of the World March of Women; and National Committee members Anjila Jha and Bimala Shrestha. They emphasized key political demands and global calls to action:

• Predatory capitalism, corporate power, and historical polluters—especially in the Global North—are the main drivers of the climate crisis.
• ⁠The UNFCCC process has been weakened by corporate capture, failing to address structural injustices.
• Industrial agriculture, fossil capitalism, and “green energy” extractivism continue to dispossess rural communities and deepen inequalities.
• ⁠Carbon markets, offsets, REDD+, and climate-smart agriculture are false solutions that commodify nature, displace communities, and allow major polluters to continue emitting.
• ⁠Just climate reparations, not debt-creating loans, are essential to support peasant agroecology, seed sovereignty, biodiversity protection, and community-led adaptation.
• Movement Strategies Affirmed-The program reinforced global strategies aligned with the World March of Women:
• Building solidarity and convergence among grassroots movements.
• Advancing peasant agroecology, comprehensive agrarian reform, and protection of land, water, seeds, and biodiversity.
• Reclaiming climate democracy from corporate influence and ensuring meaningful participation of women, youth, and frontline communities.
• Establishing a reparations-based financial system that supports sovereign and just transitions.
• Anchoring all climate policies in human rights, peasant rights (UNDROP), and feminist principles of care.

Participants expressed strong solidarity with the People’s Summit toward COP30, committing to continue grassroots mobilization for climate justice, food sovereignty, peasant agroecology, and gender justice. The event concluded with a shared call to globalize struggle and globalize hope, building people’s power to achieve a just, equitable, and sustainable future.
