From Abya Yala, our America stands in solidarity with the Cuban people, our guiding light of the revolution.
We, the World March of Women, say NO to the Trump administration’s plans to attack the sovereignty of a nation’s people who refuse to submit and who, with class-conscious coherence, continue to resist and defend the legacy of Vilman Espín, Fidel Castro, and so many revolutionary fighters who refuse to give up.
Grassroots feminism denounces and opposes the imperialist project of the United States aimed at recolonizing the American continent and placing it at the service of the corporate interests of transnational corporations that accumulate capital through the violent plundering of the peoples’ common goods.

There are many who ask themselves: “Why Cuba?” Why has a small island, with no oil, no rare minerals, no weapons of mass destruction, and no accusations of fake drug cartels, been so brutally choked for over 60 years? The answer is simple: Cuba is a land rich in dreams, solidarity, friendship, and countless examples proving that we can build relationships based on respect and love. Cuba is full of professionals in healthcare, agriculture, and culture who travel to every corner of the globe to bring the Buen Vivir and fundamental rights. Of course, all of this poses a massive threat to a system, a state, and a president like Trump who seeks to impose a relationship where there are only oppressors and oppressed, territories that deserve everything and others that are sacrificed.
From the World March of Women in the Americas, we demand an end to the embargo against Cuba and to all hostilities toward this noble people.
We call on all grassroots organizations to continue organizing actions to defend the sovereignty and autonomy of our people, especially the Cuban people.
We demand that the Caribbean once again become a land of peace and dignity for all its peoples.
To our Cuban sisters, we say: sisters, comrades we stand with you and for you.
We will continue to march against war and capitalism,
for the “Buen Vivir” and popular sovereignty!
