Feminist Economy Based on Sustainability of Life and Food Sovereignty
What are the issues we are facing?
As a feminist, anti-capitalist movement that seeks to fight all forms of inequality and discrimination against women, we view the patriarchy as a system for oppressing women and capitalism as a system for exploiting the vast majority of people, both male and female. Over the past 25 years as a movement, we have come to the conclusion that in order to understand the practices of domination employed by the capitalist, patriarchal society, we must view it as a system of multiple oppression that goes hand in hand with exploitation in the economic, social, cultural, political, ideological, knowledge, symbolic/media and ecological spheres, or, in other words, affects every tangible and subjective aspect of life. We note that these forms of oppression are intertwined and have different impacts on the bodies and territories of peasant women, Indigenous women, Afro-descendant women and urban women, as well as on the LGBTIQ+ community. More than ever, we are now certain that women’s liberation from subordination is incompatible with the existence of the capitalist society.
